This problem seemed familiar, and that is because we have a closely related cousin with "Just Prove It" http://perplexus.info/show.php?pid=8669.  I note these two problems are not isomorphic, but still draw on the same basic idea.

One of the solutions in Just Prove It makes use of the hyperbolic trig functions to solve that problem, and maybe can be adapted to this problem.
