    Strike out precisely one letter and we will have an anagram of an organic compound with the chemical formula C2H6O.
    Determine the respective names of the 8-letter Homeric character and the 7-letter organic compound.

   8 letter Homeric Character => NAUSICAA or ALCINOUS.

2. 7-letter organic compound => ETHANOL
   8-letter Homeric Character => MELANTHO
