Solve the system

5^(y-x)*(y+x) = 1
and
(x+y)^(x-y) = 5

Solution: (Hide)

Rewrite the first equation as (x+y) = 5^(x-y)
Substitute into the second yields 5^((x-y)^2) = 5
so (x-y)^2 = 1
Case 1: x-y=1 then x+y=5
solution: (3,2)
Case 2: x-y=-1 then x+y=1/5
solution: (-.4,.6)
