A Sure Bet (Posted on 2006-02-06) |
|
A man walks into a bar and says he is willing to bet that he can take his eye out and place it on the bar. After taking some wagers he removes his artificial right eye, places it on the bar and pockets the winnings.
Now he offers to bet that he can take out his other eye as well. You saw him walk in and clearly he is not totally blind. If you take the bet will you win? If not, why not?

You will lose. The man will reach into his pocket and remove his other (spare) artificial eye, or if he doesn't have one, simply pick up his artificial eye and take it outside for a moment - returning of course to pocket your money! |
