The position values read left to right, 1 thru 41.
Subtract the position value from the number displayed.
The number is a letter's position in the alphabet, thus:
Alpha Value:
1 3 15 13 13 15 A C O M M O
14 15 18 4 9 14 N O R D I N
1 12 14 21 13 2 A L N U M B
5 18 10 21 19 20 E R J U S T
18 1 14 11 13 5 R A N K M E
6 9 18 19 20 9 F I R S T I
14 12 9 14 5 ! N L I N E !
The text reads:
A common ordinal number just rank me first!
I'm happy with that, or just the word FIRST.
Additional notes:
The two encoded messages in response to this do follow the format of this puzzle. The second may appear to be weird but that depends upon how you approach it.
It was because of this that I could google a reference for the second.
MS Excel was my source for creating this. Maybe I should have presented my Excel table listings here, but I think this presents appropriately. |
