In what base is 41/14 an integer?

Answer: 11
Call 41/14 f(b), b denoting the base.
Since minimal value for b is 5 and f(5)=21/9=7/3>2
and lim f(b) is clearly 4 as b increases to infinity,
the integer must be 3.
Solving (4*b+1)/(b+4)=3 we get:
4*b+1=3*b+12==> b=11
