If a = 2 or a = -2, I think there are only 3 solutions for (x,y)
(0,0), (2,2), (2,-2).

The equation where I plugged in x^2 for y^2 becomes:
2x^2 ± 4x = 0
x can be 0 or ±2, but for the 0 value there is only one y value, 0.
