I just tried this out. When I type "x+floor(x)=7" into Wolfram Alpha I do indeed get 4 as an answer. But if I type what I usually would do, "solve x+floor(x)=7", a 4 flashes for a small fraction of a second, but that turns into "(no real solutions)".
