I stumbled onto this:

perhaps peter piper placed a plastic pickling pocket (prefiilled with a potent pickling potion) around the peck of peppers on the plant for pickling, preparing and preserving the peck of peppers until peter piper was prepared to pick the peck of pickled peppers?
