I was trying to find a suitable word for an alphametic puzzle “two+two= …”, suitable meaning guaranteeing a unique solution, and chosen from a database of non-esoteric words.
The resulting list of candidate “sums” was eight
3-letter words and sixty 4-letter words.
The overwhelming majority of those 60 (let’s call it set60) lead to the same solution i.e. 720+720=1440, structured as CVVC, VV 2 identical vowels, and CC two distinct consonants, excluding T & W, like book, room etc.
There were very few, still in set60, offering other structures, other numerical answers.
The one you are asked to find is a synonym of another, but the structure is of two equal consonants and two distinct vowels in some order.
Find this word and solve the alphametic.
