A pronounced day (Posted on 2003-12-25) Difficulty: 2 of 5
An American man and his wife are discussing a question of pronunciation.

"I was talking with my co-worker one day, and when he pronounced twosome he prounced it like chuesome. I always thought it had just a straight t sound. What do you think?" he asked.
"I think it sounds fine either way."
"Well then how would you say some words, like the second day of the week? Would you replace the first letter with a ch sound?"

How would the wife most likely answer?

The second day of the week is Monday(not Tuesday).
Since,  only words beginining with "t" produces a "ch" sound, it is not possible for "Monday" which begins with "M" to generate a "ch" sound.
