Solution I invented the Internet | Comment 3 of 17 |
They have something in common with former Presidential candidate Al Gore: namely, a little ego.

HAGGARD and SWELTERING have common letters GR
SWELTERING and HOGBACK have common letter G
HOGBACK and DOWNDRAFT have common letters OA
DOWNDRAFT and BIBLIOPHILE have common letter O
BIBLIOPHILE and DEVILMENT have common letters ILE
DEVILMENT and FLEET have common letters EELT
FLEET and IRTRONS have common letter T

Putting all the common letters together results in: GRGOAOILEEELTT

GRGOAOILEEELTT = "A LITTLE GORE EGO"

I have just enough of Al Gore's famous ego to be claiming that I solved this one.
