OK now I've read everyone else's post.   I'm still wondering about the 1 ;AM part, I guess it translates to

2 'as,    to mean 2 'a's 

I had originally translated it to:
2 's,     I left out the 'a', so I thought it meant 2 apostrophe's.  And to type an apostrophe in the code meant to hit the return key.

Anyway, good puzzle!
