The question is: "Is the statement 'Everything I say is a lie' a lie, or the truth?"
If the statement is the truth, it cannot be uttered because of paradox.
But if it is a lie, then we only know that the speaker can tell the truth, not that he only tells the truth. If he can choose to either lie or tell the truth, then this is just one of the occassions that he chooses to lie.
If the statement had been "I am lying," or something to that effect, then it would be a paradox, because that version excludes the middle ground.
