A family gathering included one grandfather, one grandmother, two fathers, two mothers, four children, three grandchildren, one brother, two sisters, two sons, two daughters, one father-in-law, one mother-in-law and one daughter-in-law.

What can be the minimum number of people present in the gathering?

The party consisted of altogether seven people and they are: Three children (two girls and a boy), their father and mother, and their father’s father and mother.

It will be found that these in their various relations to each other, fill all the characters named.

Thus the father in relation to his own father, is also a son, and so on.
