F-A-C-E (Posted on 2006-01-04) Difficulty: 3 of 5
each note on a musical scale has a letter associated with it (A.B.C.D.E.F.G)

so i could play the word BAG or FACE on the piano.

what is the longest word you could play on the piano?

and for extra credit what does it sound like?

10 letters, sounds painful | Comment 1 of 8

8 letters

Cabbage \Cab"bage\, v. i. [imp. & p. p CABBAGED (-b[asl]jd); p. pr. & vb. n. Cabbaging (-b[asl]*j[i^]ng).] [F. cabasser, fr. OF. cabas theft; cf. F. cabas basket, and OF. cabuser to cheat.] To purloin or embezzle, as the pieces of cloth remaining after cutting out a garment; to pilfer.

and 10 letters

Decabbage, v. i. [imp. & p. p DECABBAGED (-b[asl]jd); p. pr. & vb. n. Decabbaging (-b[asl]*j[i^]ng).] To remove vegetables from inappropraiate orifices (I'll be with you shortly Dr Finlay, I'm just "decabbaging" this patient).

I'm not sure what decabbaging would sound like but I would imagine it is pretty horrific.
