10+10 = 2 x 11 is a "true" statement.
How come?

However, it is not true that any number raised to the zeroth power equals one

Consider 0 raised the 0th power.  Is it equal to 1 (because it is the 0th power) or 0 (because it is a power of zero)?  In fact, it is undefined, neither 0 nor 1 nor any other value.
