Here is a cool and comical word square I read about which has both across and down clues.

Across:
1: What dogs do
2: What sharks do
3: What you do when you eat
4: What I might tell you: ___ me

Down:
1: Insects
2: Optical Organs
3: Ridicule
4: Comfort

The answer to every across clue is BITE.

That gives Bs (bees) for 1 down, Is (eyes) for 2 down, Ts (tease) for 3 down, and Es (ease) for 4 down. Very clever...
