Very neat!  The message was relatively easy to solve, partly with Dan's reply.

But the 'grid' was a little hard to fathom at first but attempting to do so I saw what was the most likely reason for the wording of the question - 5361234111!

The ancient Greek would be intrigued to see how his work has developed!

But like Dan, I won't spoil further.
