Where to 'S'tart (Posted on 2004-11-30) Difficulty: 4 of 5

1st pass encryption - MIF.CLGMFELCMLM.
2nd pass encryption - VO.IOSTSKQOPYY.
3rd pass encryption - K.XXHMMDBFEOX.

1. What answer would Zero pass encryption reveal, given that the encryption method does not change.
2. How much more difficult is it to get to zero level encryption if you don't have the level 1 values, only level 2?

OK, Juggler admitted that the first 'F' in the 1st pass should be an 'E'.  However, if you were to make that correction, all the other letters would change as well, both in the remainder of the 1st pass as well as most of the letters in the 2nd and 3rd passes.

Juggler, just so you know, mine doesn't feel too well either... ;-)

It's a pretty neat encryption technique, but it's too lossy at multiple passes.  If I hadn't guessed the initial starting point for the decryption on the first try, I probably would have given up fairly quickly.
