This sequence isn't very hard to figure out. What are the next numbers in the following sequence?

42,39,36,30,16,6,3,1,-6,?,?,?

1) I first classified it in "sequences", but in the queue, it was changed to "general", which I now believe is probably the best place for it.

3) e and x are not numbers.
