"Possibly 26 spaces lie between 0 and 1 then...enough for the whole alphabet" This is one major conclusion that this hint was supposed to lead to. But there are more than 28... look at what numbers are used in the cipher. (small hint: 1 could also have appeared, but didn't)

The line breaks hint isn't much, I broke it up so it's easier to read. The "four letters" hint is a restriction on the answer instead of something that will help you now.

Also, the decrypted text is the same length as the italic text.
