    The sun will rise tomorrow morning.

I think that if you are going to test the validity of a statement that describes movement in a direction, the direction has to be defined. It has to have a context, a perspective, and a reference position (thus, the reference plane I described in my previous post). Direction isn't man-made, but it has to be user-defined.
