If:

13 + 10 = 24 and
19 - 11 = 7 and
5 x 4 = 29 and
14 / 2 = 4

What is 23 / 5?

Indeed, that's a more elegant way of expressing the solution. I had approached the problem by solely redefining the meaning of the operators, not the numbers or the =, which lead me to incorporate the -1 on the LHS.
