K, the Key, is to be moved to contact L, the Latch, so as to move it totally into the grey area.

The object again is to move K to dislodged L. The "tumblers", the numbered blocks, are only to slide in the direction of their respective lengths.
How might you accomplish this?

But 6 can go down only 1 unit, allowing 8 & 9 only the same amount. Thus, instead of the bottoms of 8 and 9 blocking K, the tops of those pieces block K.
