Some Thoughts an answer to the question | Comment 3 of 6 |
'Will' is an auxillary verb used to indicate simple futurity. It is not a paradox that the state of raining and the state of not raining can both occur in the future as they both can occur at different future periods. Througout history rain commences and ceases to fall from time to time. Therefore, as it will not rain at some point in the given future, the event "I will get a dog" should eventually (conditionally) arrive.  Thus, the answer is "Yes. You will get a dog....if you ever go bowling, buy dog food, or have a party."
