I apologize for the misspelling. The correct spelling is quaternion (no 'r' in the first syllable).

Collin's English Dictionary gives the definition:
quaternion
noun
2. another word for quaternary (sense 5).
quaternary
noun
5. the number four or a set of four

WordNet supports this definition with its own:
quaternion
noun
the cardinal number that is the sum of three and one

Thus quaternion is considered an alternate name for the number 4.
