Starting with the 1 and 2 add the first two digits and stick it at the end. Then add the 2nd and 3rd digits and stick them at the end, then the 3rd and 4th and stick them on the end, etc...
Its interesting how a simple afterthought like recurring digits can take on a life of its own. I didn't give it much thought, but Erik O. and Charlie came up with a great proof that every digit can occur an unlimited number of times in a row (except 0.)
