What solid bar weighs more: 18 ounces of lead or 18 ounces of gold?

The 18 ounces of gold weigh substantially more than the 18 ounces of lead. The difference is not in physics but units. Gold is usually measured in troy ounces ( 31.103 grams metric/ounce). Lead - in normal avoirdupois ounces (28.350 grams/ounce). This makes about 10% difference.
