What is the next number in this sequence?

1, 4, 9, 16, 25, pi

The sequence is not arbitrary. Create a mathematical function that generates this sequence.

Like most questions (in life, as in Flooble-space), there is more than one possible answer. One solution is to define the nth term of this sequence as

n^2 + (pi-36)(n-1)(n-2)(n-3)(n-4)(n-5)/5!

For n=1 to 5, the second term equals zero.
For n=6, the expression simplifies to 36 + (pi-36)*5!/5! = pi.
The next term in this sequence (n=7) is

36 + (pi-36)6!/5! = 6*pi - 180
